A LETTER TO ALL NIGERIANS

It is with a heart of sorrow and pain when I realized the situation we are in at this moment especially in this period of our birth as a nation. It is with a very strong hope and courage that I pick up my self from the side of abject rejection that all Nigerians especially the common man have been made to live with. I count it as a rare and humble privilege to write you this moment of our travail, where the rate of unemployment, collapse of homes, child abuse and child labour, poverty, diseases and so many other vices increases on every count of the second and all of these go unabated. It is a known fact that our nation is in a great mess, where the forces of tyranny are milking our hope from our future, a situation where Nigeria has been termed a failed state; it is a tragedy and a mistaken identity. I cannot help it but say that at this moment of remembrance, at this moment where Nigeria is 49, Nigeria is already termed a failed state. When these obvious realities hit my face, I broke down in emotional pain, sometimes I prefer to be in a state of amnesia than face these state of unending calamitous position that we have walked into. I would love to wake up from a deep sleep and see that Nigeria is now a better place for us all, where there is basic attractive salary job for every Nigerians, where there is affordable health and housing insurance system for the common man, where the child right to education is a basic necessity and a matter of national interest without ethnic or religious barriers and above all where the voting right of every eligible Nigerians is a treasure and a compulsory necessity. It is so annoying that we cannot just wished all of these problems away, it is impossible even my savior Jesus Christ could have wished my redemption and that of the world, away He had to pay the price for us all. My brothers and sisters, all of us have gone astray, we have gone our own ways and left Nigeria while she burns to ashes, we fold our arms doing nothing about it, hoping that one day God will come down and do something. You are God sent to do something about this country, it could be in the area of the decayed civil service or the educational sector or even the health sector. We are all watching our house (Nigeria) burn into non-existence why we go in search for our own bellies, thus we have all earn prosperity only in our own bellies. We all have faithfully render services to our individual lives but we have not yet rendered any service to this nation. We all have made profits from our labours to better our families, which is very good , but our prosperity may have not cross family lines and not even Nigeria. We always affirmed that it is greed that often makes our leaders possesses undue ambition for gain and inordinate desires to amass wealth for them, but are we different? We are quick to point accusing fingers, why there is why, why nobody can do anything concerning this situation, why we cannot move forward as a nation, why this nation will disintegrate, but can we have just one “why” to stand up for this nation. We cannot wait any longer, 2020 is very near and nothing have been achieved. Over 20billion dollars have gone in the spate of two years and not one power station could come out of it. The 7 point agenda is not forth coming into reality either even if I do not envisage it success anyway, when he has a heart problem to deal with, talk-less of baseless agenda. The responsibility of service to this Nation is beckoning on us Nigerians to act according to our heart desires, to start reaching out to Nigerians, to our environment, to our individual immediate sphere of contact. Those in our area of passion, what drives us (you), what inspires you, start reaching out to people that are like you, so we could start recovering the lost years. Nigeria is already 49, and her age has not reflected any hope to the common Nigerian. There is a better life abroad, we could work towards that good and better life for Nigerians, a life that most Nigerians are obviously unaware of, and let’s match the higher life where every citizen can be proud of this country. My friends, we must do something now about this country, we must do something about our individual state, about our local government territories, about our communities and our homes. Some of us or very few of our estimated population of about 140 million Nigerians may have been prosperous but is your prosperity tied to anybody? Except your immediate family and friends, who else has benefited from your fortune? So let us make Nigeria and Nigerians prosperous by focusing on our area of calling to the benefit of this Nation. I mean your purpose of being in Nigeria when God could have placed you in Liberia, Ethiopia or Ghana. We should all seek the peace of this Nation. There are so many groups coming out of every zone of this country as a result of rejection Nigerians have faced mostly from the nonchalant attitude of the leaders. So many are picking arms to do all sorts in the name of struggle and resistance against rejection and neglect of the unfortunate leaders of this Nation; We have the militants in the Niger Delta, the Boko Haram in the north and many others who may have not yet shoot into public awareness We should start in earnest, programs that will promote peace, as in pursue programs that will give completeness, wholesomeness, perfect wellbeing, welfare, prosperity and health of Nigeria. We have to pursue this with vigor before unrest gets to boiling point. Let us start initiatives that encourage social, ethnic and religious integration of Nigeria. Obviously, a lot need to be done beyond what out sporting programs are offering today. The solution can only be found in massive investment in programs that affects the vulnerable youth of this country, they are the one being used by politicians, influential people to cause destruction of peace and security in this Nation. We need to invest in education, build more schools and upgrade the infrastructure of the ones already built. We need serious skills acquisition training centers in the country. We need massive investment in the overflowing talents of our youth, it is a sure way to an elusive middle class economy, where entrepreneurship can be given a nationalistic pride of place to cut down on the over dependence of gainful employment in a monopoly economy where oil seems to occupy over 80 percent of our earnings. Let us individually pursue peaceful adventures for this country. Remember, in the peace of the Nation is your own peace as an individual, therefore, seek the peace of our country; work and pray for her well being, for if things go well for the country, things will go well for you. We should be inspired to serve this country. The responsibility of service is the responsibility of every Nigerian and it is the key to greatness. Though we are living in a country where greatness is misconstrued as stealing public fund and being celebrated in the process without being brought to justice. That is not greatness; it is personal aggrandizement and a great disservice to the Nation. In anything we do, trade, business or profession, let us not do it to hamper the growth of the country just as we are made to believe by CBN that most of the chief executive of the troubled banks took depositors money to pursue their own individual interest. We should not act like this but become motivated by the joy of service and also be inspired by the importance and relevance of your job or business towards the betterment of our society. Make yourself needed, relevant and indispensable to your generation by choosing to serve for that is the pathway to greatness. Be inspired to serve. We all have the power to influence positive change in our society. Officially, 10 million Nigerian children are said to be out of school. Of this figure, 4.7 million are said to be in the primary school age category. The rest 5.3 million belong to the category of those who could not find accommodation in the secondary school system. A decomposition of the figure shows 62 percent to be girls while 38 percent are boys. UNICEF officially reports that 15 million children are engaged in child labour, with 40 percent of them at risk of being trafficked yearly, internally and externally. The same can be said of the health indicators, which are no less chilling. Infant mortality is said to be 80 deaths per 1,000 live births. Also, 45 percent of children under five years of age are said to be malnourished, while only 20 percent have access to immunization. Malaria and other preventable diseases remain endemic, and theses are said to be responsible for the death of 20 percent of the under fives. Obviously a lot need to be done, I’m personally building an NGO that is not yet registered because of the complex requirements involved, but am striving hard to get the money for the registration and also getting an accommodation that I can use as the office including a store house where my team and I could stock relief materials for our future missions. You can also deploy your influence in this area. You could set aside a thousand naira or an equivalent of $7 for a motherless child monthly. I and my team have not fully realized the financial requirement to embark on this but we are putting all we have together to make it a reality. So if you care much, just make a change in a child life today or if positively share in what we are doing you could donate a dollar to this my liberty reserve account with account name as Marho and account number as U3123102. This is not a scam but please if you feel indifferent about it, you may ignore it and continue reading or contact me through my mail at maurice1909@gmail.com or call +234-0803-438-7788. On a last note, we should be positive about ourselves and our Nation. Instead of confessing negative words about ourselves and country, we should confess positive and inspiring words, encouraging words and other stuff that make us who we should be. Let consider others, especially the less privilege living among us. It is a good thing; please let us do good and be king always. Thanks for you time.
