NIGERIA @ 50; WHY WE STILL NEED TO CELEBRATE

Though, it has been a very rough road since October 1st 1960, but with all the intimidating under achievers we as a nation have become, I still see a light at the end of the tunnel. Though some have predicted that Nigeria will break-up in few years from now but if there is still God that oversees all the rumblings in the universe, then I dare to disagree.
Despite our current travails, I dare say that there is light somewhere near you or me that we have not yet seen and therefore, have not come to full realization of this fact.
But am not determined not to allow the present gloom that has envelope the polity block me from seeing the silver lining.
I was not born by October 1, 1960 when the union Jack of the British colonialists was lowered for the Nigerian green-white-green to fly but I doubt if the joy felt by Nigerians on that day is anything compared to when Nigeria defeated Argentina to claim the gold at Atlanta, USA by august 3, 1996.
Please do not let me dwell on the so much negativity and non-objectivity of the Nigerian press towards the country but good things will also happen to this country soonest. I do believe that over 70% of what is written might be true but dwelling on them will not bring us out of the ditch either.
I humbly affirm that there is still need to celebrate why?
Because Nigeria have not started creating immoral laws that will entrench lesbianism, homosexuality, bigamy and so on. We have not yet deteriorated to the extent of creating single parents society that resulted from lies that have been sold overtime.
Because as a nation we still believe and accept the sovereignty of God. This is not to be the same of other nation where they have questioned the existence of the almighty creator of the Heavens and all the planets including our mother earth. America have grown in power through technology in weaponry and feels they could protect themselves and make peace in the world by their physical strength but they forgot that the knowledge of the God on whom their founders built the nation upon is still on the throne.
Because we still have the never say die attitude that make us not to give up easily. I call it faith and we are impeccable at this. Nigeria ought to have broken-up but the faith of every Nigeria has further tightened the nut against the contrary.
The final and biggest reason why we need to celebrate this independence is the presence of the sitting president and also the future president of the country come 2011, the person of Goodluck Jonathan, the present Moses to start the journey to our promise land as a nation. I dare you to challenge me on this and I will go on and on why he is still the best candidate for the job. Goodluck Jonathan is the reason for this season, the only VIP for the palace at Aso Rock villa. I know presently that there are rumblings in the polity but let me tell you that the Peter Obi emerged in Anambra state, so shall Goodluck Jonathan will match on come 2011.
You have the right to believe what you want but you do not have the right to spoil the fun of this country as some presently do because they feel they have power, influence and medium to do so. It is just a matter of time so short and the polity of this nation will change forever. As long as there is this New World Order who believe that the United Nation have failed that is how I believe this old generals have failed and will have to be forced to keep quiet or eliminated. I am forced to admit what El-Rufai said that this old generals are expired and he was just 25 years old when they were in power and now he is 50 and they are still hungry for power. You can find out from the Daily Sun papers if you care for the details.
